GameDevVentures is an independent game development studio based in Kyoto, Japan.

Founded in 2026, the studio is dedicated to creating games that emphasize strategic depth, player freedom, and replayability.
We believe that great games don’t need enormous teams or budgets. What matters most is a compelling idea, thoughtful game design, and a commitment to making every playthrough memorable.
Our goal is to create games that players can enjoy for years, not just hours.
We are particularly passionate about games that encourage experimentation, reward creative thinking, and offer new discoveries with every playthrough.
We also believe that great games should reach players across borders. Through multilingual support and development for multiple platforms, we aim to make our games accessible to players around the world.
GameDevVentures was founded in Kyoto, Japan, by an independent developer with more than a decade of professional software development experience.
Our first project, Ashlad Adventure, is a turn-based roguelike inspired by the Mystery Dungeon genre, featuring procedurally generated dungeons, monster recruitment, and strategic exploration.
This is just the beginning. We hope to continue creating distinctive games and building lasting relationships with players around the world.
Before becoming GameDevVentures, our studio was originally named GameGenesisers.
The name was created by combining “Genesis,” meaning the beginning or creation of something, with the suffix “-er,” intended to represent “creators.” Although “Genesisers” isn’t an actual English word, the idea was to express the spirit of creating new worlds through games.
However, after receiving some honest feedback from a native English speaker that the name sounded rather unnatural, the founder decided it was time for a change.
And so, GameDevVentures was born.
The name reflects our ambition to embark on many game development ventures, turn creative ideas into reality, and make those ventures successful.
We hope this is just the first of many adventures to come.
